Bastard!

He's alright is Greg. Maybe not to a leftie but he's sound.
What did you do, Beaky? It must have been something bad to offend the world's leading free speech absolutist Elon Musk.
Did you tell him to stick his letter up his arse?
He tweeted a photo of him eating fish and chips surrounding by admiring sycophants and I tweeted that I hoped it choked him. Perhaps a bit strong in retrospect...
I actually returned to this thread to delete it was it has nothing to do with comedy, but as people have replied I won't. Sorry for being off subject, though! I let my indignation get the better of me. Also the Martin Rowson storm in a teacup (or perhaps a fur cup) was in my mind. I know him pretty well, and was angry at how he's been treated, too.
Surely more to it than that. 'I hope it chokes you' is a common enough reply - I would say even comical and never taken literally.
'I'm having this last bun - I hope it f**king chokes you, is funny.
It's the right place for it - General Discussion.
That does seem an over-reaction.
I personally insult him at least twice a day.
So is it a lifelong ban?
I would question it.
More than happy tp spread the word if you want to make something of it.

He Musk have friends in high places. Twitter's loss beaky.
I've appealed twice, and they won't even discuss it. As Stephen says, it's a common insult, no more.

Why insult him at all, common or not? Why not merely articulate whatever disagreement you have with him? I know it's an alien concept to many on the political left but it is possible to have a difference of opinion without resorting to insults, abuse or "cancellation".
Clearly, despite the title of the thread, it is not censorship at all. Censorship would be if you had indeed articulated your opinion and it was deleted. This is, quite rightly, trying to eradicate insults and abuse on social media.
Fair point Billy. But frustration is a human emotion. I get Musk doesn't quiet understand that (was it a 1/3 of his twitter staff that left) but surely twitter is now just bullying people for showing emotion ? It will lose all it's colour.
It's the life-time ban that seems odd.
i regularly report racist, nazis, homophobes etc.
And whilst they usually get a short ban - they're up and running again with the same username a week or two later.

Are they calling for someone's death?
Quote: DaButt @ 4th May 2023, 1:07 PMAre they calling for someone's death?
Yes.
Usually an entire race.
Anyway - "hope you choke" isn't a death threat.
