Does anyone have any children who watch this? What do they think about it? Has it gone downhill since the old days?

I used to watch it when I was 10 years old ish (12 years ago now) - but I remember it wasn't seen as cool to watch it when I got to secondary school.
Yeah, it does seem like an uncool programme. The reason I asked was I'm hoping to do some work experience for the BBC and one of the positions I applied to was on Blue Peter (because I have a lot of experience working with kids) and if I get it then it'd be good to know what people think of it etc.
No more or less patronising and stupid than any other current kids' show, unfortunately.
I found it a bit shit even when I watched it as a kid, corny and I stopped watching it after about 3 months. Why I gave it 3 months I don't know

I watched a couple of shows on BBC iplayer before I sent off my application form and thought it was patronising too. I put that in my application form under the "ideas for improvements" section. I just wonder whether that'll reduce the chances of getting the work exp. as I doubt they'll want anyone who's gonna tell them that their stuff sucks.

It's pretty good I think. Although of course if it wasn't for my 'reasons', I probably wouldn't bother. But then I'm not their target audience.
The one thing that pisses me off is when they make stuff. They used to properly go through it, but now they show you a rushed 20 seconds, then cut to another feature, then pop back to show you another rushed couple of seconds of 'this is what it should look like at the end', and, 'go to our website for full instructions'!
Load of bollocks.
