The all in one consolidated RIP thread Page 99

Terribly sad news to hear about Paul O'Grady.

He always seemed a really nice person. I'd occasionally listen to his Radio 2 programme and it had just been announced he was moving to Boom Radio.

Firstly came to my attention as Lilly Savage - a gloriously over the top wise cracking scouse woman.

RIP Paul.

This has made me sadder than I would have expected.
He struck me as an incredibly kind man - outspoken in his support of the gay community, an advocate for for his beloved dogs and waspishly funny, both in and out of drag.
He seemed to have found a happy equilibrium in life - 67 is way too soon.
RIP

Yes, Rest in Peace Paul - very kind man. My wife is very upset as she watched anything he was in, especially the Battersea Dogs Home rescue programmes, which she watched avidly.

You could not dislike Paul O Grady. Anyone who loves animals is OK with me.
He walked with the common man and Royalty alike.
RIP

RIP Paul O'Grady, a true talent and a clealry lovely person.

The love of dogs programme was a wonderful tribute to him, showing his care and love for the worlds' furry friends.

I always thought he seemed well loved by both the industry and the public, and today's outpouring of grief by everyone and sharing of memories of him solidifies that.

A great entertainer and kind and solid bloke. He'll be much missed.

The Royal one replaced the Chase this evening. Watching it now on ITV +1.

Raab saying in the House of Commons that O'Grady would have made fun of "Woke" when the exact opposite was true! He was woke to the core, and loathed the Tories. Raab even got his name wrong, confusing him with Larry Grayson. What have we done to deserve a cretin like him as deputy Prime Minister?

Reminds of the Shakespeare play, Much ado about nothing.
Who hasn't mispronounced someone's name or had theirs mispronounced?
But it gives a section of the community something to cluck about.

I hardly ever get a letter through the postbox with my correct surname.

Not sure it was mispronounced.
I think to Raab, all gay comics look alike.

Reminds me of when Cameron mispronounced 'Aston Villa'

Well 'West Ham' does sound very similar to be fair

...or when Diane Abbott mispronounced the cost of recruitment of 10,000 police officers over a four year period as £300,000.

She wasn't pretending about the cost of recruiting - she made a dumb mistake

Cameron WAS pretending to support Aston Villa, probably to make himself look more 'normal'

Cause to people like him, we are all gullible idiots...

I'm a Bolton Wanderers supporter, never in a billion years would I accidentally say I was a Blackburn Rovers fan ffs!

Up the Villa!
