I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,540

Gary Lineaker used his own Twitter account to say how he felt. If he said anything libellous we have courts they can take him to.
Gary Lineaker is a sportsman and a sports commentator. Outside of sport he is not seen to be an expert in any field and he does not report news or current events.
Strange how they want to cancel people when they don't like what they say, they being the very people who scream about people being cancelled for views that they actually agree with.
If he is spoken to by the man who allegedly backed loans to the former Tory PM who awarded him the job, it would be slightly ironic.

All he actually said was that the language used was not dissimilar to that used in 1930's Germany.
Which it self-evidently was.
The very same point was made in the HOC several times.
The rest was made up by the Daily Mail.

Apparently Boris has squealed on Raab in the bullying enquiry

Snitch!

No honour amongst arseholes!

Et Tu Bojo.

Are people discussing the "annihilation of the [immigrants] in Europe"? Because that's what Hitler was saying about Jews in the 30s.

Some people. The ones who virtue signal a lot and pretend to care.

Nope.
He said the language of "invasion" and "they're coming" was redolent of the kind of language that attempted to 'other' certain groups in the run up to the war.
Swarm, flood, pouring in, "100 million people want to come here", detention centres - language like this is designed to create a threat that isn't there.
NHS in a state? Not lack of funding - it's immigrants!
Schools falling to bits? Not underinvestment - it's immigrants!
No houses . Nothing to do with lack of affordable house building and the selling off of council housing - it's immigrants!
It's a tactic that's as old as the hills - and it will lead to people being hurt.

Steve's a mind-reader now.
I know you can't imagine a world where people care, but you'll have to take my word for it when I tell you a lot of people do.
I just hope to God there's enough.

You say that but who cared about the children who were abused and murdered behind closed doors during lockdown because there were no schools open to notice their injuries and no social workers visiting? Who cared about two years' missed education? Who cared about those with mental health problems and the increase in suicides? Who cared about the small businesses that went to the wall?

Terrible choices had to be made.
I cared deeply about the suffering of people during lockdown - my own children in particular, obviously.
In my opinion we did the right thing - saving countless thousands of lives, allowing the NHS to function - albeit under great strain.
We can argue that all night - and I know it's something you feel strongly about.
But to imply that people who argued for lockdown "didn't care" is pretty outrageous, and casts aspersion on vast swathes of good, caring people.

Very similar to:

I know you can't imagine a world where people care,

I would have thought. It's just that people have different views on how best to resolve a problem.

Couldn't resist rehashing this..................

I had just been accused of lying.
Of pretending to care.
I was just returning the insult.
You know that as well as I do.

I'm sorry but these are two separate issues, but going by the content of their Whats App this potential cat killing government had no concern for the people it was allegedly governing during lockdown and in fact many used it as a means to steal from the people .
As for 'Stop The Boats' it is yet another sound bite aimed at the continuing notion that we are under threat as an island from what is now described at 'Billions' of illegal immigrants.
The reality is that when it comes to this issue, it is one of our own making.
Register these people whilst they are still in Europe and asses them there , that way anyone coming across in a small boat who has ignored the process would be in the wrong.
As it stands they can't legally apply and are forced to try other means.
No one wants uncontrolled immigration why in gods name would they?
Whats needed is a government that addresses the issues not one that throws red meat to the mob.
What the Tories and their papers are doing now is not new the Daily Maul in the 30's complained about immigration only the time it was the Jews who were upset with the way Mr Hitler was acting. The Great Fire of London was blamed on an influx of Belgians etc etc
As for equating Lock Down with Stop the Boats that makes no sense at all ?.
You can be sure that the people who care about the treatment of immigrants will have been just as concerned about the welfare of people during lockdown as it would be consistent with a caring person.

I've even read people calling Lineker a coward - because he never received a yellow or red card during his career!

The poof!

Was it you, Billy? Did you care? Good man.
