I wonder when and why they were changed from Frosties to Frosted Flakes?

I bought them in a charity shop (new & unworn) for a fiver. I wear them with pride. And have had many an admiring comment - especially while wearing them with my shorts. (Or it could have been sarcasm of course.)

I think Frosted Flakes is the US name and Frosties is UK.

Ahh, and the latter for above 😁
