I did better than expected - 10/10 and 2/5. At least three of the first ten were guesses but there were lots of programmes and people across the quiz I'd never heard of. And Q8 I'd vaguely heard of without any context (in an interview with John Cleese or Spike Milligan I think) but had no idea what it referred to.
British Comedy Quiz Page 27
Today I scored 6/10.
I correct answered 1,3,4,5,6,9
I incorecctly answered 2,7,8,10
Like the previous posters, got the first six correct. And then numbers 8 & 9. Didn't know 7 or 10.
Quote: Billy Bunter @ 22nd December 2022, 10:35 AMI know Kenny Everett was born on Christmas Day. And Noel Edmonds (the clue's in the name). And Charlie Chaplin died on Christmas Day. If that helps...
Noel was not born on Christmas day. I know because we share the same birthday. Lucky me eh? Not the same year though.
I got 9 on the latest quiz- much better than I usually do.
I object to Paul from Ever Decreasing Circles being described as 'slimy' though. Completely wrong !
Well I'm glad for you you'd be fine with a new lothario neighbour moving in next door and inviting your wife on a holiday with him. But I'd call him slimy, at the very least.

That's good to know the plan of easing punters in with some getables and then seeing them struggle is working.
Quote: Niki Walton @ 11th January 2023, 10:46 AMI did better than expected - 10/10
That's not good to know.
And can anyone tell me if a curly wurly is still 3p because I want one, but not if it's gone up too much in price. Ta in advance.
I'd just like to say - Thanks Alf for duplicating two of my questions, which I have now had to alter. So much for spreadsheets.

'Lothario' is the wrong word to use too. Nothing ever happens between him and Ann after all.
Flirtatious? Definitely.
Charming? Undoubtedly.
Slimy? No!
His easy going charm presents a refreshing contrast to Martin's pedantic obsessive nature. I don't think most of the audience were hating him. Quite the opposite!

Oops which ones, I'm guessing Q10 was one now I see you are doing a Leonard Rossiter special. ? It should be easy to rework that into a slightly different Q. Had to do a Q on that, saw it at the pics when they were still showing pre feature shorts and I came out only remembering that and not the main film.
Just did your S&S special and got 6&4. Yes on Henry Woolf, even better in the 2nd film, a very underused talent. The complete opposite in real life, what was that children's show he did, Button Moon or something? And a big name in theatre for any Harold Pinter fans on here.

No, it was 2 and 6, but no great worry, as I said to Mark this is going to happen until he gets his check sheets up and running - he's had my spreadsheet for some time, but didn't use it.
The other one I was surprised about was "Balham, Gateway to the South" which is, of course, a famous (to me!) audio track Peter Sellers did way back in the late 50s. I didn't know about the Muir and Norden one. Is it the same script, I ask myself.
As for Leonard Rossiter, also no, not one of mine, which I'm only in the early stages of putting together, as Mark wants it to coincide with the 40th anniversary of his death, next year.
Quiz 237 written by that fellow Hercules:
6/10 and 2/5.
1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10 correct, and 12, 13 correct.
I'm happy with that score, although it would've been 7/10 if I'd stuck with my first instinct for question 2... Like they say on The Chase, go with your gut instinct...
9/10 (no guesses) failed on no 2
No 5 Love it,that's my sort of humour.
Thanks.

Yes the same famous sketch, I thought I'd credit the writers instead of Sellers, as he gets a lot of mention on here.
9&4 on your latest one, surprisingly as some of the progs I've not seen.
Just 6/10 for me this week. # 1, 3, 4, 7, 9 & 10 correct. Couldn't remember # 8. No idea on 2, 5 or 6.

😁 So glad you liked it, especially No. 5 - one of my favourite married couples. So funny!

You say that, re Sellers ( lot of mention on here? Really? Haven't noticed) Twice now I've offered to do a quiz on him, but Mark is not keen as he thinks not many people doing this quiz will know much about him!!
What do you think Alf? And then I'll have another go with Mark.
Anyone else, please feel free to say if you would be happy with a Peter Sellers quiz..........
8/10 and 2/5 for me this week, several I knew the correct answer straight away but most of the wrong answers were guesses for shows I've never seen.
Got 1, 3-5, 7-10, 13-14 correct. Everyone in my family ought to get #9 correct, as back in the day my aunt named her goats after these characters 😁
