Vintage adverts Page 52

Back in the 1980s myself and my two brothers, one older, one younger, used to holiday in my parents' holiday bungalow which was located in Herne Bay, Kent. Our mother gave us all a sum of money to spend in The Hampton Stores so my younger brother bought a Finger of Fudge. Whilst crossing a busy road he dropped the aforementioned chocolate bar and a vehicle ran over it rendering it squashed in the road. He began to cry and being the cruel siblings that we were, myself and our older brother laughed.

So ... every time we heard the Cadbury's Fudge advert on the TV we'd always sing "A Finger of Fudge is just enough to get squashed in the road ... it's full of squashable goodness etc."

Cruel

Surely you enjoyed some manner of sibling teasing back in the 1930 Herc? I have an image in my mind of you all dressed in sailor suits like the five sons of King George V and Queen Mary.

Now, that's just plain cheeky Herc; I have no doubt that if you look in the window of your local newsagents there should be a plethora of cards offering such services?
