You had a bloody lot of toys Herc. Talk about spoiled. I bet all the other kids hated you.

How *old* is Herc actually, though? Does he recall Queen Victoria's sad demise?
Can I talk about the Sindy House which was priced at £50 in 1982 or suchlike? My mum gave me a small bookcase instead and said that it was far superior to the fashion doll's plastic abode. She lied.
I pretty much knew what toys I was getting for Christmas about 2 weeks prior
They were always "hidden" in my mum's wardrobe and it didn't take Sherlock Holmes to guess what they were
I also knew I had gotten one of those first ever TV video pong consoles on Christmas Eve night
I could hear my mum and dad playing it downstairs when I was 'asleep' in bed
Bip! bip! Bip boop!
I still have fond memories of the 48K Spectrum my mum bought us. We used to set it up on my granddad's kitchen with the 14in Sony Trinitron acting as the monitor.
Trying to explain Subbuteo to my 10 year old great niece.
"Is it like FIFA?"

Better than FIFA.

My parents were very rich, and the other kids worshipped the ground I walked on - well they had to or no playing with my bits.

I reckon that they all refused to come round to Herc's house for tea. "He has many toys but he continually cleanses the precious objects."

Thanks Herc - I do hope to hang around this year, I might even become a supporter again as the £24 me and Mr L have spent on the annual membership of the London Cultureseekers won't be renewed and that forms part of our pleasure budget.

TPTV had a celebration of 1950s/1960s toys on an episode of 'The Footage Detectives' about five weeks ago.
