I don't know how many nods of approval a Ford Motor Company ad needs in order to make its way from a Madison Avenue drawing board to the pages of a glossy magazine but I think this line would have been corrected by somebody at some stage of that journey if the ad were genuine.

I learned to drive so I could drive my dad's Capri. I was a motorbike lad at the time.
I passed my test and he wouldn't let me near it.
I see his point now, I bought a 2nd hand Simca and within 6 months there were more dents than straight bits.

There are lots of photos of this beautiful Capri on lots of websites. They say it's from Ford's Mercury division and it's described as a "Mercury Capri II 'Le Cat Black' 1976".

I love it.
