Yeah - shame that.
Iran were a completely different side - ground the Taffs down in the end.
Keeper going off was the tin-lid.

I've seen pictures today of sweaties wearing kilts and American shirts over in Qatar.
Wonder why they went?
Don't forget, amidst all the excitement, that the domestic fixtures continue tomorrow with the FA Cup 2nd round, the Scottish Cup 3rd round and the National League. More games for BBC, ITV & SC4 to fit into their packed schedules between World Cup matches for our entertainment.
I think this is the first World Cup since about 1970 that I don't really know anything about the teams there.
I'm always hoping the underdogs would win but I'm probably not alone in hoping that if England don't win it then I'd like Brazil or the Netherlands to win it.
And why don't linesmen bloody flag when the player is off-side instead of waiting to see what happens. Anyone could get injured.
Stuffing my face with leftover smoked turkey and mash before heading to the bar to watch the big game. The only vaguely patriotic shirt I own features an American flag rendered with pistols, rifles, and shotguns, but I guess it'll have to suffice. Headgear will be an Aston Villa cap, so I may be seen as a fence-sitting traitor.
May the best team win
i.e. us ! ?
Wow we've been pretty shit tonight so far
Creating f**k all
Awful boring game and a clueless performance
People got carried away after we battered the mighty Iran (!)
This was more like the incredibly mediocre side England are at the moment
USA managed the game very well and completely nullified us
I've seen some really rivetting exciting nil nil draws but that wasn't one of them.
Awful.

But the two best efforts were from Mount and Pulisic. There must be a connection.
Impressed with USA, otherwise two hours of my life I won't get back. (Yeah, I know it's clichéd, but I wanted to be as boring as England)
And is there something written in the England team handbook about the back three have to pass the ball between themselves in a senseless passing game "You have the ball" - "No, you have it, then pass it to him" - "I don't want it, I'll only pass it back to you", and so on,, which I have seen in every England team play over the years.............oh, and the other thing, is the England play going backwards - at one point there wasn't one England player in America's half of the field.
Come on you Red Dragons!!
The manager dictates how they play and I suspect he was trying the 10 minute defend, 10 minute attack method - it's a known strategy.
Hence the negative back-passing. It didn't work as the USA were a better team than he thought.
But a draw is a point and the objective is to go through from the group.
The USA were surprisingly better, and Southgate negatively predictable
And so much for my confident England 3 - USA 1 on Super 6
Only Billy got the draw (1-1), who clearly didn't have my optimism, and knew Southgate of old.
