Just asked my son, and he remembers them when he was in his twenties, twenty five years ago, so I presume you are younger than you look in your avatar ?and/or had kids later than me.

Probably all the above!
Girls were born in '98 - so probably watched them in the mid 2000's and beyond.
They're pretty cool, very beautiful and, being Japanese, bloody weird.

Why would I be watching cartoons in the 90s? I was an adult by then.

Futurama, South Park, The Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill...

Ren & Stimpy

Dr Katz was very good, although it seems largely forgotten now.

Well, there you go - Son1976 Daughter 1978. Totally different generation, and we had our two when in early 30s.

It all fits in with family memories - the only thing now to think about is why you look so old in your avatar. With respect, of course. ?

At least I'm in colour.

You're lucky to get a picture, as HGT was mostly on steam radio, and I'm one of those who absolutely hates the so called "colourisation", that some rave about as though it'll make for a better programme/film.

Laurel and Hardy colourised? PER...LEASE. Good God NO!!!

For some strange reason I don't think that is Lazzard in his Avatar.

Ren & Stimpy

Ah yes! Tom and Jerry with even more attitude.

Ren & Stimpy

Youuu eeeeeeeeeeeeeddddiiott!

Duckman was another good, insane 90's cartoon aimed more at adults

If I was going to pick a fake avatar, I'd pick a better looking one than that!

That seems to be just a list of post-1960s cartoons, three of which I've heard of; two of which I haven't. None of which I've seen. But your point is?

I won't speak for Aaron, but those are very funny 1990-ish adult-oriented cartoons.

They're all very much cartoons and very much for adults. Some have some suitability for older children; others definitely not.

Cartoon is not the same as kids' TV.

Same here.

Beavis and Butthead. Diarrhea-cha cha cha.

And therein lies a problem. Kids used to be able to have their own interests to lead a separate life from the adults that were there to "control" them. Their own music, fashions, games, films, fantasies, cartoons, causing general mayhem & rebellion...

Now the lines have been well and truly blurred and adults have encroached into all of those areas, even as far as riding pedal scooters down the road for goodness sake, leaving kids no separate interests or causes, nothing to rebel against. No wonder they are suffering from disproportionate mental health problems. They are no longer allowed to live their own lives away from unwanted adult infiltration.
