Unions are made up of ordinary people who have joined forces to ensure they are treated fairly safely and can get the best wage possible. They are mums and dads and hard working kids . They vote in their representatives and vote on each action taken. What could you possibly have against ordinary working people getting organized?
People like these make up your page and no doubt your income stream, they're not bad people they are people who being forced into working poverty by the most inept government we have ever had. Solidarity does not mean Socialism it's just means that they understand the power of groups, a bit like Groupon.

Absolutely bloody spot on

Country in trouble again through government mismanagement? Again?
And you want us working classes to suffer and suffer and just blindly accept it? Again ?

F**k

An overly powerful union working to destroy their own industry by making it unviable, yeah.

German companies typically have one Union member on the board of Directors. So they can influence at every monthly management meeting. It's believed to encourage collaboration and trust. Our current government is encouraging the divide and conquer approach from our "Imperialist" days, we need to modernise.

well put, but I wouldn't call Scargill ordinary, fair or safe. The minor's union had to him to court , that's not a "union".

Unions are made up of ordinary people who are being exploited by vicious, power-hungry union barons just like the royalty and landed gentry of many centuries past.

Fixed it for you.

Anyone can cite mavericks in any field. For the record both were expelled through a move by their members no matter how protracted it still indicates that as a group the members won over in the end.
I can never understand union bashing as its mostly just cliches and scare stories. Look at the picket lines , its nurses barristers. posties and cleaners and a whole host of hard working decent people.
Many of the aggrieved were our life line when the virus struck, yet anyone they elect gets called a Baron?.
Have a look at how real Barons live, no doubt your taxes pay for them.
The richest man in the world owns his own space rocket but won't allow unions for his workers who are pissing in bottles and still using a foodbank despite 12 hour shifts.
Sadly the media is owned by billionaires who detest the notion that ordinary people can have any form of control over their own lives and labours.
On a day were government has shown disarray duplicity and intimidation we should not be trying to blame their victims.

Chip on your shoulder much, lofty?

What you describe is more akin to Labour's approach. Imposing their one size fits all "help" upon us all and demanding our baying, unquestioning, obedient thanks. Locking people into servility and dependency. Disgusting.

How low can the Tories go? The quest continues...

I've been watching a very long Labour party broadcast on TV this morning.
Think it was called GMB.

It's the BBC wot done it!
Hilarious.

If you know of any examples of the government serving its people well this morning, please share them with us !
Don't shoot the messengers.

Well, if they serve up a Labour govt - a Progressive Alliance even - they'll get a big thumbs up from me.

The Conservatives are doing this for themselves.

Sorry - that's what I meant.
It's early.

The question now is, will the ERG and the Tufton St. boys have one last go and get behind Suella for PM?
Last throw of the dice for the Free Market Fundamentalists?

Suella has positioned herself as the Far Right candidate, but hate alone is not enough. She has no depth or gravitas outside of the dog whistle blaming wretches in dinghies. Hate doesn't keep the lights on or food on the table, at best she will attract the lunatic element and split the vote.
This government is now like the end of a particularly bad B movie where the baddie is being shot by all hands but refuses to fall down dead and the staggering around is only stretching any credibility the story line had in the first place.
