Ridiculous generalisation.

They are in America where somebody can lose an election fairly and squarely, and then whip up half the electorate to believe it was 'stolen.' It'll be interesting to see what Elon Musk's policy is on spreading disinformation like that on Twitter.
Quote: Billy Bunter @ 25th April 2022, 10:07 PMI should have thought the answer to that was obvious. The British electorate voted for him. As did the French for Macron. Like I say, we get what we deserve.
Only, unlike the French, the British weren't given a viable alternative so there's some excuse.
Serious question, what exactly are the Thatcherite policies you think we need now?
Re Twitter/Musk
I think it'll turn a fairly nasty place even nastier.
On the upside, it'll be good to see what people like Donald Trump and Tommy Robinson are up to.
Pre-warned is pre-armed etc etc

Twitter's (and Facebook's) policies on disinformation are hideously one-sided, and American voters have good reason to distrust both social and traditional media. One only has to look at the blanket banning and blocking of reporting on Hunter Biden's laptop in the days before the election for proof of Twitter's complicity in trying to throw the election for the candidate of their choice. If Musk can keep that from happening in the future, then his acquisition of Twitter will be a very good thing.

The blanket ban was pretty shit since I seem to remember hearing shed loads about Hunter Biden's bloody laptop before the last election.
People keep saying Miley Cyrus is the new Lady Diana. Come on love, take a car in France.

What people are saying this?

Not on Twitter or Facebook, as they prevented the story - or links to the story - from being posted to their widely read platforms. Partisan political censorship on a massive scale.

I would say that was a classic case of putting words into my mouth!
Boris Johnson has threatened to "privatise the a**e off" the Passport Office if it struggles to clear its backlog, a senior Government source has confirmed.
The Prime Minister even put the DVLA and other "arm's length" bodies on notice during this morning's Cabinet meeting with ministers, according to the source.
The Passport Office is understood to be swamped with backlogs needing 10-week average waiting time.
When will these idiots learn? Everything they privatise ends up 1000 times worse
The govt. should have predicted this and staffed up in plenty of time.
Millions of people not going on holiday for over 2 years and you're going to get a lot of out-of-date/new passports that need sorting.
Same with DVLA and people putting off getting their provisional licences (also backlogged).
It's the govt's problem and to try to distance themselves is dishonest.
To blame work-shy employees is disgraceful.
The only people that I have seen anywhere complaining about the Twitter buy out are like the ones on here.
What are you afraid of about free speech? They don't clamp your head and eyes to forcibly read it.
There's even a 'block' button.
Suck it and see before all the condemnation.
It'll be no different to what it is now.
Just a few more nutters.
It's not like billionaires controlling the media is anything new.
Let's face facts Elon Musk is a Bond villain. He's got the private island, the satellites, the rockets and his back story involves diamond mines so he is capable of anything.
He clearly knows that if he opens it up like the wild West then the advertisers will flee. They couldn't run the risk of an algorithm putting their advert in between radicals discussing radical shit.
The reality is whether you agree with it or not, is that Left or Right radicals lose advertisers. And to add insult to injury liberals bring them in as they are currently the most commercial.
So if people want to spend money to be able to talk like Hitler or Lenin or Jimmy Savile and Ted Bundy then good luck to them. As the entire service is going to be reliant on subscriptions rather than ad revenue
I wouldn't pay for it as the idea of free speech being behind a pay wall is way too ironic for me.

Are you sure? I think I recall reading that he'd sold all of his residences.
