It's "pork or veal cutlets" in a mushroom gravy, apparently. Sounds - and from Google Images, looks - utterly vile.

It was pork. I was hoping it would approach the sublime version I had last year in Berlin, but no such luck. This meal wasn't much better than a fried pork chop and lousy mushroom gravy.

These red beans and rice are much tastier. Though they come from humble boxed beginnings, the addition of some Andouille sausage and a few squirts of sriracha and they're the next best thing to being in New Orleans.

I have no idea what ANY of that is, but it sounds spicy!

Laughing out loud Philistine, with his sausage and chips!

It's like....we're talking a different language.

Sriracha is the finest condiment of all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sriracha

Andouille sausage is a spicy creation of those crazy Cajuns who live in the Louisiana swamps and chase alligators all day. When they're not playing catchy music with 2 spoons on a washboard strapped to their stomachs, of course.

I am sooooo hungry now.

Voodoo isn't frowned upon in New Orleans - in fact it's quite popular with the tourists.

Even the tin-eared among us would find it difficult to avoid involuntary toe-tapping when the zydeco starts up. And then the beads come out and the bras come off ...

Zydeco. Sounds like some kind of shape rather than an instrument. A zydecohedron? Interested in the bra removal though. Hmmmm.

Bras, shirts and beads fly through the air during Mardi Gras. The things a woman will do for a few plastic beads ...

Never heard of it, and never seen it when in the US before! Looks ... intriguing.

:O I am shocked and saddened that you think I would do such a thing!

Oh, I quite liked the idea. :)

Aha! Well ok then, perhaps sometimes! *makes note*

I love Schnitzels.

But you prefer weiners.
