But then I'm not a "celebrity" so the chief investigating officer wouldn't have the opportunity to pose on that evening's news in his best uniform and assure us that they take every complaint very seriously.

I use to find that funny. But now it's been explained to my German friend that she should stop apologising for a war she was born into (i.e. proof it can't be her fault) I now realise it can't have been funny. The Faulty Towers episode "Don't mention the war." is well observed. Love John Cleese.

When billionaires spend twenty five million quid to keep someone in a job that pays £150,000 pa . You have to wonder how they got their money in the first place as it makes no financial sense. Or you can suspect that having someone on the inside is worth every penny? I wonder which applies here?
