I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,368

It gladdens my heart when I hear Zelenskyy (yes, I copied and pasted that!) saying they'd downed 100 Russian jets so far - surely what with that, the unrest in their troops and the Russian families having to bury their sons, there will an upsurge against this despicable tyrant war criminal.

That's my hope, anyway.

I guess you didn't see the video of the Russian people cheering Putin at the Moscow stadium on the anniversary of the taking of Crimea.

The Russian TV Propaganda seems to be working and far too many Russians believe the Russians are fighting Nazism. It'll take a heck of an effort to overturn that.

Yes that was a depressing example of how he's made himself into the new Stalin to save Russia from the evil west, which so called Ukraine or Southwest Russia wants to be part of.

It's been widely reported that many (most?) of the attendees were students and government employees who were coerced or tricked into attending.

The aftermath:

The Russians have lost yet another top ranking officer in the Ukraine. Going by the size of the hats that their generals wear I can only surmise that the snipers are having a field day. In times of war there is a lot to said for a simple cap preferably camouflaged.

Good point, trouble with dictators is they surrounded themselves with people scared to do anything but agree with them, which then shores up their false belief. Just look at how many "close" relatives and friends Kim Wrong Un knocked off. Thank goodness for democracy

While I was in the Army, I spent a couple of months in Panama. Noriega was causing trouble, and there were daily anti-American protests and rallies. I asked a Panamanian about the attendance at a big rally that I saw on the news, and he told me that everyone in the crowd was a government employee and attendance was mandatory.

I hope that everyone in the Olympic Park is ok . It looks like the swimming pool has had a Chlorine leak. I don't know much about medicine but if I was in charge I would have plastic cups of Oxtail soup and little see through packs that have two Ritz crackers a triangle of cheese and a small silver skin pickled onion and a wooden spreader in them. Because they always helped me when I came out the baths as a kid and the chlorine levels were so high that I looked like I had been welding without a mask.

Apparently Russia are applying to host Euro 2028.

I see people on shite wages will no longer have to pay any NI

Which is very commendable by the government

But what happens when these people retire?!

Their state pension is dependent on what NI contributions they have made surely!

Yes, good point - my wife paid the "married woman's stamp" of 6d (2½p), which is why her state pension is shit.

But one only has to pay, or be credited with, full National Insurance contributions for 35 tax years to qualify for a 100% pension so hopefully, in the 54 years between age 16 and pension age, that will normally be attainable.

Big EU -US summit planned for tomorrow to discuss the way forward in relation to the issues blighting the free world. Boris not invited and shunned at press shoot for equating Brexit with Ukraine. Whether you voted for Brexit or not , have you in your life time seen a British PM look so isolated and irrelevant?
We have always been at the front of things like this, we had military expertise, diplomatic clout and gravitas. It has all gone, its been squandered on the altar of half wit who promises everything and delivers nothing.
We use to rule the waves , now we can't even scare a f**king ferry company. These idiots have raised taxation more in 2 years than Brown did in 10 and he is apparently the bogey man.
We went cap in hand to a country that murdered 81 people the day before, begging for oil. We asked India to help in the effort for Ukraine and were rebuffed and the meeting cancelled .
Can anyone on here tell me what use this man and this version Brexit is? We are rolling downhill faster than MKIII Cortina with a broken handbrake. Surely we must act soon everything is in f**king bits and getting worse.
