Bob Monkhouse - Way Over The Limit

From the "Bob Monkhouse: Three Great Shows" DVD Box-set, that was bought for me at Christmas

Odd if not misleading title this, as I was expecting maybe something a bit bluer from the master of stand-up, but in fact he made a point of not using any swear or sex words. Plenty of innuendo though!!

1h 20m, looking like it was cut down from a 2 hour plus show, and most enjoyable, with me wondering how on earth he remembered all the constant stream of jokes, without appearing to hesitate once.

The third DVD is just a compilation from the first two.
Live and Forbidden is as good as it gets.

I bought this on Amazon cos I only had Live and Forbidden on VHS and couldn't survive without it. Exposes... is great too but far more laid back, and An Audience With... was awesome, especially the finale where he remembers everyone's name. Last Stand would've been perfect but they broke it up with all the sychophantic interviews, duh.

Yes, I realise now I happened to watch the compilation one, which seems to be a bit of a con if it's highlights of the first two, and I emphasise that because the discs are not numbered and that was the first one in the sleeve. Bloody people. ? ARSE!

Yeah, very funny in its own right, but surplus if you already have the other two.
I also have the double audio cassette, Bob Monkhouse at the Beeb, an affectionate look back at his career. Might be just up your proverbial street, Hercules.

He says Wank once, but the beauty of Bob is that less is more: he stops before the obscenity instead of driving it home. One of my favourite lines is, 'Last night I watched a porno that really raised my eyebrows. But that's old age for you.' The comics I sit through at Open Mics these days would reverse It: 'Didn't raise my dick!!!! Just my eyebrows!!!! That's how f**king old I am!!!!! Not me diick!!!!!!!!!!! Oh!!!!!!!! Not me dick, just me f**king eyebrows!!!!!!!!!!'
Bob was a legend. Sorry to clog the thread up with references to other sites, but I've already expressed my admiration at https://www.chortle.co.uk/correspondents/2008/03/03/6488/praise_be_to_bob! and don't have much to add.

I hate that. Gimme a show or a doc, not a mishmash. It was the same with McCartney's The Space Within Us. I know the meaning of suffering.
