The Office Page 5

What was cut in the TV re-runs? I didn't notice anything in particular.

I'm guessing the p word, which is surprisingly kept in Ep1 on the iplayer run.

You mean it was bleeped?

What, piss? ?

By the way Alf, still waiting for your reply on my "Footage Detectives" thread.

Watched first two episodes of series two last night. Marvellous stuff, and instructive if you're a hopeful sitcom writer. It's not overloaded with dialogue(my failing), but relies heavily on reactions and beautifully observed camera shots. Fine acting throughout, McKenzie Crook being particularly impressive. The way Gervaise brings out the deep sadness of Brent is very moving. And God, so funny!

It marked a sea change in the nature of the TV sitcom.

The rerun on BBC iplayer appears to be completely uncut, I'm happy to relay. Maybe the Beeb are pulling back on the wokery now. happy face. But then this is only the internet and not TV, I suppose.

Series 1 Episode 1 aired at 10pm last night on BBC Two.

Series 2 episode 1 surely, Aaron?

Oh yes, so it was. Series 1 seems to have aired in November and December.

So, have the BBC cut or bleeped episodes of The Office or not?
*goes off to get blood from a stone while waiting*

No they surely can't have cut or bleeped any if the p word was aired in S1 E1 as reported above. This is on the iPlayer run. so I'm just assuming it's the same on the TV rerun, which has completely passed me by.

I tried to put my favourite clip on here but I have forgotten how to do it..
The one where Gareth asks the new office girl out on a date and she tells him she's going out with Tim.
And he says with all sincerity that he doesn't normally do sloppy seconds but he takes each case on it's merits.
Then points at her vagina and says, 'if you expect me to go in there, make sure Tim wears a condom.

Yes, it's well written and directed and stars one of the writer directors so it knows exactly what it is, it looks very sure of itself whereas some of the loose copies of it didn't.

The first episode was one of the best developed 1st eps I've seen, it looked like it could have come from series 4, when it was the opener. That's how good The Office is. And still holds up well.
