And there were a lot of tobacconists would sell cigarettes singly, if you were short of money, waiting for the next pay packet.
I once grew some tobacco on a bit of spare veg plot. Virginia leaf - or something Virginia.
Bloody hell, without tending it or doing anything, they grew to about 10ft tall with massive leaves.
I read a book on how to cure the tobacco (in the library - no google then) and dried and coated each leaf and eventually put them all in the vice in my garage.
When it was cured, I bought a pipe and shredded the solid block.
The smoke that came off was thicker than an old car with the piston rings gone.
It was horrible and un-smokable and fumigated everywhere I tried it. I gave up on it.
I didn't know it, but it re-grew next year bigger and bolder.
When I sold the house, the family that came said there was a strong smell of tobacco in the garden, I feigned innocence.
I drove past a year later and there it was still growing even bigger.
2001 Would this be acceptable now? Dunno - doesn't bother me, but then I'm not PC ?

I often take a flask of OXO to the match on cold days.
Everybody in the stand get a whiff.
Powerful graphically, but splitting the words like that doesn't make any sense unless they ended in FULL, which doesn't work thanks to the vagaries of English spelling.

I think you are looking at it to seriously. It works for me, as I don't think it was meant to be a visual ad, but something you would repeat in your head (or out loud, if you were that way inclined, as people edged away from you) as FULL for each category, thus reinforcing the benefits.
Not totally the same, but it is accepted that the greatest of this type of ad ever, was the Beanz Meanz Heinz.
Are you accusing me of being a miserable pedant, Thynne? You'll be hearing from my solicitors!
Moi?! ? Heaven forbid.
