I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,346

Not to be offensive, but those restrictions were ridiculous, arbitrary, and unnecessary.

Yes we know that - and, as it turns out, downright harmful.

Happy Birthday to the Internet!
Ten years old today.

Ten years? I've been registered with Amazon and eBay since the year 2000.

I'm sure Lazzard was making a timely joke that went over our heads, but I was goofing off on the Internet 35 years ago. Thanks for inventing it, Al Gore!

The World would be a far better - and safer & less confrontational - place if it never had been invented.

Internet = good. Social media = bad.

Yes, my internet comment was a joke at the expense of Nadine Dorries (our bewildered Minister for Media.)
And of course the worst thing about the internet is the spread of barmy & dangerous disinformation, most recently, relating to Covid (see above).

I'm not sure if your comment "see above" refers to my opinion of the lockdown as "downright harmful" but I'm thinking particularly of the children (Alfie & Star I believe - there were almost certainly others) who were abused and ultimately murdered in their own homes because they were not able to be seen by anybody and were not going to school, quite apart from other suicides and mental health issues resulting from the lockdown. The thing that caused those tragedies cannot be described as anything other than harmful. For the record I have had all three vaccines and still wear masks when in shops, etc and on public transport. I have no problem with that and have spread no disinformation. Personally I'd rather have taken my chances with covid than have had those children go through the suffering that they did.

Sorry, but thats the old "Seat belts are dangerous because someone got stuck in their car and burned to death" arguement. Statistically it doesn't stack up.

Nothing like it actually.

Explain.

I see the mob attacked the leader of the opposition, citing Saville amongst other crap. Johnson is attracting the same people Trump did and I suspect that his own MPs will be disturbed by this as it won't be long before they start getting called TINO's?.

There's too many young politicians these days...

When I was growing up all politicians were grey haired old codgers who look liked they'd lived a bit

I think all cabinet/shadow cabinet members should be over 75 years old

And smelling faintly of wee

And with big f**k off eyebrows like Dennis Healey

So how come I was using the internet back in 1989 or earlier?

He thought he was being satirical...

No.
I know I was being satirical.
I thought I was being funny.

You know what the thought did...
