I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,325

The news is too depressing and now the cause of 92% of depression. Broadcasting companies should only lawfully retain their licences if they each agree to paying for a million well-being counsellers. Seeing that they are all as tight with money as a gnat's arse, this would guarantee there is only happy news and also save the NHS.

Furthermore, it isn't as if they tell you what is really happening. It's all just save the planet. I know, for example, that Norbury High Street is about to be invaded by a herd of highly unusual gigantic bees which have machetes attached to their proboscises. These can slice off several hundred human heads every second within a thousand mile radius. So Christmas is cancelled. It is goodbye to our unmutilated Britain.
Who logically should now give a toss about other parts of the globe?

. At lease McDonnell and Boris can both speak Latin that's something, isn't it ?

Very useful in this day and age.

They are probably just grateful that we don't have John McDonnell in charge of the economy, Diane Abbott in charge of law & order and Piers Corbyn's brother in charge of the vaccination programme.

Yes McDonnell said in his last election manifesto that he would spend billions and billions

Glad we didn't end up having to do that

I bet he is too!

Yes and that was before the pandemic. Once he had had to deal with that on top of his manifesto pledges, it would have been quadrillions and quadrillions.

Good point. Once a government has been elected they must never ever be questioned or held accountable for their actions.

Had the Labour party won the last election, they could have raised billions by putting a swear box in Angela Rayner's office. The only class traitor whose language takes her DOWN in class.

I've been criticising the current government ever since they were elected. Doesn't stop me recognising the inadequacies of the opposition as well though.

If it wasn't for the perceived dangerousness of the opposition at the last election, we wouldn't have been saddled with the hopeless parliament that we have now - and will have for the foreseeable future. The electorate wasn't presented with an electable alternative. The adverse effect that the Corbyn/Abbott/McDonnell combination had on the last election will be felt for at least the next 8 years. They have a lot to answer for.

I think you're probably right.
I'd like yo think the 'progressive' grouping of parties can get their act together a little quicker than that, but you're right - Ed Miliband has a lot to answer for.

Has anyone been watching the series about Blair, Brown and New Labour?

Can you imagine if Johnson had negotiated the Good Friday Agreement? He'd have been in there for half an hour, made a few Irish jokes then announced his stunning success to the media, back in time for tea and crumpets and the first bomb.

There are undoubtedly some fine MP's in all partys. Most of these people are pushed to the sidelines by the vacuous frauds who backstab their way to the top.
For years, my constituency had a fine Labour MP (born and lived here) who tirelessly represented the the area magnificently until she retired. She was replaced by another Labour MP with a greatly reduced majority who at the last election lost it to the Tories for the first time in generations.

More like the unions who effectively elected that bozo instead of his far more credible brother have a f**k load to answer for

You can always rely on people within the labour movement to damage the party more than anyone or anything else outside it

Anymore talk like this and I'll report you to Len McClusky. Labour's real leader.....

:D

Yes, I guess you could go that far back.
There is a theory that it all goes back to a punch up in the House of Commons bar!

But Ed changing the voting structure was an act of sheer madness - you had Tories joining the Labour Party just so they could vote for Corbyn.

With the hard left/Momentum, it's a classic case of the " Council of Perfection" - the perfect being the enemy of the good.
They want 100% Left - or nothing.
And nothing is what they get. And will always get.
If they could get it into their thick heads that watered down Socialism is a f**k of a lot better than undiluted Tory-ism, we could finally get somewhere.
As it is, they are knowingly harming the people they're supposed to care about, in vain pursuit of a fantasy.
The sooner the party splits and the smart ones reach across the aisle to the other Progressive parties, the better.
