Paper caps smell great.

All part of the nostalgia trip. Love it. :)

Latest additions to my nostalgia/trying to recover my childhood trip - an original 1950s cap pistol in Near Mint condition

A little piece of Texas in the UK...

I had a similar set when I was a kid. Mine were Lone Ranger models, and I "killed" my brother with them hundreds of times.

I used to 'kill' my friends with a spud gun

...or dried peas.

From the Department of Old Thread Revival

I know this is going to confirm my candidacy for the next rampaging gun loony after my air-gun slug query......................... :P

Latest additions to my nostalgia/trying to recover my childhood trip - an original 1950s cap pistol in Near Mint condition, and I have to say I am absolutely over the moon with it. Few tiny surface scratches on the barrel and handle, but otherwise Immaculate! Been going round the garden and house killin' them baddies and pesky injuns! God, that takes me back.
Been trying to buy a decent one for nearly two years, but they mostly come with the plating well worn off, through over use or left out in the garden.
Also, as you can see bought a cap bomb, but not sure how original that is, but there again the modern ones are usually plastic, and it's great that someone still produces the paper strips of caps.

1950s? You've been done, mate. More like 80s or 90s. Hope you didn't pay too much.

I didn't, but don't agree with your dating of it.

Made between 1965-75 according to this. I knew '50s was too early. Great box.

Rings some very loud bells here and I was past playing cowboys by '65.

OK, you win MAYBE (you are taking the word of an American auction house - Crescent toys were going long before the 60s), but I still love it as this type must have been made previous for a number of years, and seeing the price that one fetched 8 years ago at $115 (OK, boxed) makes mine look at bargain at only £11.85 Inc. post

Whatever, all round I am very happy cowboy. :D So watch out next time you come ridin' through Dead Man's Gulch..............

I think I got a bargain, when you consider the price and condition of this one - so yah boo sucks. I would hardly call that "done" Mr. Smarty Arse. :P
