Strength Of Strings - Gene Clark

Such a talent.
The title song of that album is still a favourite.

This would be one of my desert island discs.

Gorgeous.

Wings, 'Red Rose Speedway'. It is almost total and utter f**king shit. Hard to believe 'Band on the Run' came out the same f**king year.

Never heard of her before but she does a very passable cover of it:

Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen live.

Just been to a local Oxfam shop and several Country flavoured albums recently arrived. I also bought Desperado by the Eagles, Don Quixote by Gordon Lightfoot and an Emmylou Harris album.

Obviously somebody's collection. Could be a number of reasons but sad if somebody has died and of no interest to those left behind.

I bought a Commander Cody LP from a charity shop too.In the 80's.I didn't know what to expect I just liked the name.I didn't play it much.
At least a charity got something out of your find and they didn't Ebay it.:)

50 years ago Jim Morrison died.

I do love that song. So atmospheric.

Currently listening to the album Royal Tea by Joe Bonamassa. Probably one of the best blues guitarists alive today.

If you don't know him this will tell you.

"or 2 fingers up".

Robby Krieger as a genius:
his solo in prayer opening song was very subtle.

(My 2 cents for musicians: "Bonamassa" Black Beaty LP is overhyped, brass covers on epi pro HBs, bad woods ans so on,
. same with BBK 's "Lucille" black painted 335, All are bad and cheaply made in reality. Alas, their names are used for marketing mass product guitars - what can we do?)

I like Bonamassa talking in vintage guitars shop YT channel (many times he goes there to strum about) https://www.youtube.com/user/NormansRareGuitars/search?query=Bonamassa

Having seen him on the way up I am a bit disappointed at the costs of his products. But you can't deny he's a brilliant musician.

On the 25th anniversary of Wannabe, there's a campaign to get it back in the charts. These are the truly worthy causes in life, aren't they? F**k famine relief, f**k cancer research, f**k Amnesty, let's challenge our energies into getting this useless, beyond deluded, 25-years-old-and-even-then-they-were-shit bunch of boilers' total and utter f**king shit single that makes The f**king Chicken Song sound like the f**king Dark Side of the Moon into a wanking that hasn't meant f**k all since 1974, right? Girl Power! PS Dear Sporty, I know you follow all my posts so don't worry. My marriage proposal still stands, and so do I.

Following on from Joe Bonamassa (who covered this) I thought I'd re-visit (!) Disraeli Gears by Cream.
