Does anyone know if this Simon Pegg sitcom is still being made? I've just been to the Spaced forum, but had trouble registering, so couldn't ask.
La Triviata
No. And it never will be, mwahahaha.
A couple of years ago I had the similar idea for a sitcom based on a pub quiz team, and another based of a group of characters who regularly compete at a karaoke night. Decided the problem with both (amongst other things) was the fact that the quiz/karaoke would get too much in the way of the plot.
Of course, I'm no Simon Pegg, but that could have been a problem with La Triviata.
Was a pilot ever made? And, if so, did anyone see it?
On the IMDB it says he's writing something called "Paul" with Frost. I can't figure out though if it's a movie or a tv show. That's all I can see.
Although I'll take any tv show he's thinking of doing though.
Yes.
Come back to TV, Simon! Stop fannying around with films.

Paul is a movie and they won't say anything about it, grr.
I doubt he'll be returning to the telly.
Shame, because I really do like Simon Pegg it's just a shame he's so intent on making films. He probably sees telly a hassle.
What's more is amazing to think he's nearing 40. I was listening to the ace Big Train commentaries (Pegg always give good value on commentaries) and he mentions he was 27 during the filming of the first series. Strange to think it was over a decade ago.
I think La Triviata would have happened if SotD flopped. But it didn't.
If only it had!
Just kidding.
Sort of.
I think he might return to telly one day. Maybe not for another 10 years though.
One day he'll realise that he's abondoned his loyal, original audience, and once he's made a few more movies which are reasonably (but not majorly) successful, he'll come crawling back...
Possibly.

Doubt it.
I think he realises that whatever he does in his career it HAS to be better than living in Gloucester.
Oh god no, we don't want him to regress that far!
Going as far as London and Nick Frost will be fine.

I live not far from Gloucester, so I can confirm that I wouldn't wish going back there on anyone.
Luckily I don't live there though, as I'll always be in Pegg's shadow.
