On the subject of prime ministers in British sitcoms, how many have popped up in them? Both fictional and real? Margaret Thatcher did pop up in The New Statesman and Jim Hacker in Yes, Prime Minister, but I'm not sure of too many other walk ons. I know Blackadder the Third featured Pitt The Younger, but I'm not sure he was PM, just an MP.
Best ever British Prime Minister? Page 2
Tony Blair in Catherine Tate
I forget Spitting Image as well, that featured a lot of PM's, as has Dead Ringers and Bremner, Bird and Fortune. Plus Mike Yarwood did a decent Harold Wilson. What about The Thick of It, did they ever mention who was the PM?
Lord Palmerston!

LORD PALMERSTON!
"Obviously, Churchill's probably the best"
What did that bloated, bloodthirsty bigot ever do for Britain?
*Winks long, hard and satisfyingly*

Disraeli almost scrapes it for this quote alone:
"The difference between a misfortune and a calamity is this: If Gladstone fell into the Thames, it would be a misfortune. But if someone dragged him out again, that would be a calamity."
But on statesmanship and being the man of the hour: Churchill - without doubt the saviour of the English-speaking nations and Europe in its greatest need.

I do love that one.
Wow! But did he write it himself?
