If my dad had rented the TV he could have just replaced it with another one for ITV.
But he was still paying for it, and we had to wait until BBC2 came out to be able to watch ITV programs.

It's well worth (re)watching and directly comparing the two, as the ITV revival is all based on the original BBC plots, rewritten with bawdier jokes.

I got my first video recorder on rental.
