Novelty Jukebox

Excellent feature, the Novelty Jukebox by Dame Agnes Guano featuring The Goons; BUT it still sticks in my craw that Michael Bentine is shown in the header photograph, especially in this case where, as far as I know, Bentine never featured in any of the The Goon's songs.

And here's my favourite 10" vinyl LP of all their best songs, all very funny, which I think was brought out to coincide with the launch of the Telegoons who feature on the front cover.

I have asked Aaron a couple of times to remedy this, but he says there's a problem with copyright etc.(?).
PLEASE Aaron change the photo! Bentine never was a Goon. He may have featured in the earlier long forgotten "Crazy People", but didn't add anything to the highly successful radio series that ran for a number of years and is still revered and looked on as the foundation of modern British comedy.

Here's a better photo :-

We demand justice! :D

Excellent new feature column indeed. I look forward to more. Perhaps 'Vocalizing Vulgarity: The Transphobic Subversion of Australian Identity in the Songs of Barry Humphries'. Plus so much more rich ground to mine.

Concur with HGT about photo of Bentine + Goons trio. It's somewhat akin to having a photo of Stu Sutcliffe on a cover of the Beatles' Greatest Hits from 1964-70 just because that was the first free-use Beatles pic that turned up in an image search.
