The Likely Lads Page 3

I like the film a lot, and Dick and Ian did write it.

I recommend the beautiful Network HD restoration, available on Blu-ray. https://www.comedy.co.uk/film/the_likely_lads/shop/6124/the_likely_lads/

What did annoy me was TPTV going way over the top with their censoring innocuous words such as "shit" by muting them - for f**k's sake TPTV grow up!! Angry

Don't forget the station is run by a father & daughter from their shed and they don't have the wherewithal to pay any fines from the authorities arising from malicious complaints or to fight any rulings. One false move and the station may have to close. People like to complain. And there are also competitors out there who would prefer them not to be broadcasting. They consider it prudent therefore to err on the side of caution. And the word to which you refer is on the Ofcom list of potentially unacceptable words (https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/read-what-ofcom-thinks-47-8987533). And it was well pre-watershed.

Yeah, but Ofcom can stick its rules up its arse.

Are bums included? As this happens on a fairly regular basis on TPTV (but not on other channels as far as I can recollect) where they are blurred out, no matter how innocent.

What a sad world we live in.

I've just watched this. I still enjoyed it. I assume it didn't have the original theme tune due to some music licensing issue?
