The Old Dark House (1966)

Mixed reviews on IMDb, but I found this a typical early 60s film that I would have never gone to see at the cinema at the time as they were always this same lame "comedy" romp, which is surprising for me considering the number of my favourite actors in it viz. Robert Morley, Joyce Grenfell, Mervyn Johns, Fenella Fielding, Peter Bull and Danny Green, along with the gorgeous (Thora Hird's daughter) Janette Scott.

There was some Yank in it playing a major part who I had never heard of, so he can remain anonymous as he lent little to the film anyway.

No, I struggled to watch this to the bitter end, just to see if it would improve, but it didn't.......................

What a noble service Herc performs for us, so we don't have to sit through a load of crap old films!

I'm going to go out into the garden and clap for him.

At least these days you can suffer from the comfort of your own home. No need to catch a bus in the rain on a Saturday night.

Thank you beaky. I suffer for others bravely, but gems do turn up occasionally.
