Skins Page 3

E4 and the BBC have to consider demographics because its part of their mandates. So thats why they aim at demographics, not to make money. it would have been cheaper and more commercial to buy in an American show.

I never said Skins was original, maybe they should only concentrate on sex like they do in Friends and Fraiser. I'm glad that you've got to grips with the difficult subject of annorexia but thats not how they portrayed it. You're a teenager, do you know anyone who doesn't drink, have sex or do drugs?

I don't know what your point is Martin you keep saying 'yeah but you can also say that about...' either we're both wrong or both right.

I like Skins, I don't like Friends or Fraiser. Whats the point in labouring that point. As i keep saying its subjective so arguing isn't going to solve anything.

btw using big words isn't witty its talking down to stupid people.

PANTS OFF TIME......

Lets judge this row purely on Skins. 4 skins.
Wahoooooooooooooooooooooo

I never said using 'big words' was witty, who uses big words?

But saying that Channel 4 and BBC arent in it for the money, thats just wrong. And yeah some teenagers do drink, have sex and take drugs, but not all them. Most dont pop pills so casually like its just a natural thing to do with no cause for the consequences. "Only concentrate on sex like Friends and Fraiser"...Skins DOES only concentrate on sex, a full episode about a guy trying to drug a girl to have sex with her, shagging parents and a nude neighbour or something like that, the whole show is about sex (not a bad thing, but when its not funny or entertaining whats the point).

Anyway we could go on all night (arguing I mean), so will just leave it with you like it, I dont, neither of us are going to change each others opinions. I have no problem with AJP by the way, I just think Skins is shit and overated, there might be other programmes that we both love.

We're agree to disagree then, sorry Charley. Don't you like Sarah Silverman, we should talk about how great she is.

This seems to be another one I've missed. Must have been wasting my time on some stupid web site.

Obviously very popular bearing in mind 3 pages after only a couple of days. I don't have time to read all these comments but I'll have to look out for the repeats.

Yeah I love Sarah Silverman, lets talk about her lol. Glad to see that The Sarah Silverman Programme has been commissioned for a second series.

Yeah the series was great (apart from the last episode which was the pilot so thats excusable). Its good that it was virtually all new material, especially the songs. the episode with the 'bomb' was great. I hope the new series is longer than six episodes.

Apparently its 13 episodes series 2. I agree the last episode was a bit poor, strange that they showed the pilot as the last episode. It had some cracking lines in the series though, stuff like "If we can send a person to the moon, then we can send a person with AIDS to the moon and then one day we can send all the people with AIDS to the moon" and "You've already made me proud, all you can do now is make me unproud" lol.

'Get your head off my titty bitch!' was one of my favorite lines, the poop song was also good

Cant i start another row?
I was getting off earlier!

lol

Show is decent but the final five minutes in last epsiode was a joke as if they ran ouuta ideas and thought screw it lets make it a musical, cringeworthy. the last 5 minutes of final episode ruined it foe me

I loved that they went that way with the ending.
Made the whole 'is About The Boy boy dead?' into a lighthearted thing.

I agree it was genius.

FYI we have a couple of signed Skins DVDs to giveaway... enter here.

I found it to have a terribly patronising view of teenagers. The dialogue was sharp and the acting was excellent but it needed a hell of a lot more research. The attempts at social satire were intensely embarrasing.

Ah, this thread's a bit old isn't it. Feel free to disregard this rather late and futile criticism.
