Then f**k all.

Elastica's debut was the best album of the britpop era

Totally unoriginal- but cool as f**k

One of the handful of albums I own on vinyl and cd - only because I picked it up a few years ago on cd dirt cheap from a charity shop. Was pretty surprised to see it on the shelf.

I really like their cover of Trio. In the live version, the drummer gives it some proper welly.

Yeah, great stuff! Very punchy sound all round. Some of the lead guitar runs on this are a bit Fall like.

Yep they were clearly big Fall fans !

And Wire too - hence the court case...

After the LP they did f**k all and then an EP with Mark E Smith and then more f**k all.
Stealing and admitting it: An act of homage and respect.
Stealing and not admitting it: You c**t.

No they had a second LP called The Menace

It was actually pretty good too

I saw a 90s quote from Damon Alban - 'If punk was to destroy hippies, we're gonna destroy grunge' - and it made me think. I thought, In the words of Emily Dickinson, f**k you you f**king self-obsessed, beyond f**king deluded, totally f**king self-absorbed, think-you're-more-talented-handsomer-more-important-than-you-are, f**king jumped up, f**king pseudo art house f**king f**ker. Wanna change music? Gotta do a bit better than Gotcher, Alex's '''Song''' and C**ty f**king House mate. In the meantime, I suggest you go f**k yourself. Even your name sounds like a f**king breakfast cereal. What a f**king dick. Of course grunge finished, every f**king movement finishes in the end, nothing to do with you, you arrogant tit. Like Cobain foresaw shite like Rednecks and thought, F**k me, can't compete with this guy, better end it all now. What a knob.

Blur made a song -that British f**king Gas use on their tv ads

Nuff said

Can't imagine some big corporate company using Territorial Pissings

I've never known anyone with such an abyss between image and reality. Except Salinger.
By a curious coincidence, Bleurgh's original name Seymour was from Salinger.

Listening to Elastica reminds me of The Farm and lots of others in the 90's.
I only ever bought one of their records.

They were the only Liverpudlian band around the madchester era

Then there was the sole London contribution

Madchester was one of my live things.

For their final premier live stream, The National are showing a recording where they played the same song over a hundred times.

The artist, Ragnar Kjartansson who conceived it is commenting live in chat.

Ragnar Kjartansson & The National - A Lot of Sorrow

Edited to add - it goes on for 6 hours apparently.
