Astrid Kirchherr, Beatle lady https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/astrid-kirchherr-beatles-photographer-dead-obit-1000677/

In the above article, Rolling Stone magazine describes her as "a German-born photographer".

I'm trying to work out why she shouldn't be described simply as "a German photographer".

Mind you, the magazine tells us also that she died of a serious illness.

My medical qualifications are not extensive but fatal illnesses are always serious, aren't they?

In any event, she was there in the early days with John, Paul and George.

And, appropriately for a woman photographer, she was as pretty as a picture.

RIP Astrid.

Not one by Francis Bacon.

... And Phil May of the Pretty Things, age 75, following a cycling fall while spending "lockdown" in Norfolk with his family.

They said the problem with Stu was he couldn't play well. Cool from a band who proactively brought in Ringo.

I would have expected this thread to be busier, that decides it, everyone back to work.

RIP Michael Monkhouse's "jokes".

Three pop deaths in just over a week and you're still not satisfied.

You're pinpointing just this one joke of MM's as being cheap????????

Incidentally someone I'd never heard of until today.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Barkan

RIP Mark Barkan. One from the Brill Building wrote Pretty Flamingo, the Banana Splits theme, songs for the Monkees and the Archies among many others.

Songs for the Monkees... I loved it when they admitted to the fans they'd mimed and 'instead of admiring our honesty in confessing, they were annoyed.' Interesting logic. 'I f**ked your wife and instead of admiring my honesty...'

Mory Kante... Just kept knocking out those hits. The Cliff Richard of Africa. How did he do it? What was his secret? I guess we'll never know.

No mention of Fred Willard? https://www.theguardian.com/film/2020/may/21/fred-willard-obituary He was great in Best in Show and various other films.

Heather Chasen from the Navy Lark.
92.I expect she was the last.
RIP
