Whenever the f**k it was, Prefab Sprout release 'Cars and Girls', an attack on Bruce Springsteen. The Sprouts have every right to do this, for they will far outstrip Springsteen in commercial and critical acclaim, consistency of live performances, and not having a stupid f**king name in the first place. Actually that's one point that I agree with you on. I always thought Prefab Sprout were arrogant pretentious tossers.
I don't get this thing about an attack on Springsteen though.

That's more helpful than my suggestions. As I said recently, I played most of my vinyl to death at the time, so I haven't listened to a lot of these in ages. I also think Springsteen's work is quite difficult to place in order, compared to some other artists.
I hope someone listens to that Phosphorescent gig - it's one of the best things I've heard this year.
