Obscure man looking for Comedy in a barren field.

Hi, I'm Smith. Mark Smith.

I'm from Whittonstall & I'm about to do my first gig in at 'The Stand - Newcastle' in March and looking forward to it.
How was everybody else first gig? any advice would be epic!

P.s. Is there any venues where people can gather together to share comedy Ideas and perhaps start filming sketches either in the North East or indeed anywhere else in the country? I think I'll enjoy stand up but my main passion is sketch shows like 'Chewin' the Fat' and 'The Fast show' and I'd love to meet like-minded people to joke, write and perform with.
Must bring own condom.
