That's what a lot of counties are now apparently.

Towns.

The information is in several posts and lists above although I think I might have got the total to aim for wrong.

It could be less than what I suggested.

I need to review it.

Wimbledon(shire) - Richard Briers. In the same hospital as me. Only some years earlier.

I didn't know there was a hospital there. Thought it was just tennis and Wombles. With all due respect to the original poster, this turned out to be a disappointing game as it became clear that the country's counties are all up the spout and consequently indecipherable. Plus some areas are so lacking in comedic talent that you have to find actors who have done a tiny bit of comedy or others who were born in the ark. Still, needs must, so keep your eyes peeled for the list of the ones still needing to be completed. It's coming here shortly..........

And here it is:

City of London
Rutland
Warwickshire

West Lothian
North Ayrshire
South Ayrshire
East Ayrshire
Angus
Moray
Clackmannanshire
Argyll and Bute
East Dunbartonshire
East Renfrewshire
Shetland Islands
Orkney Islands
Western Isles

Ceredigion
Torfaen
Monmouthshire

County Armagh
County Fermanagh

There are, in fact, 49 in total for England so added to Scotland's 32, Wales's 22 and Northern Ireland's 6, the magic number is 109 rather than 108. We gave got 88. The list still to get as featured above is 21.

I think it might have been a good idea if, at the start of the game, the rules had included definitions of "county", "comedian" and "famous". Laughing out loud

Just because you never saw the hilarious Gareth Gwenlan series which starred Vesta Tilley and Stuart McGugan in County Merthyr Tydfil that's your loss. I did - and it was fab-u-lous.

Unless I've missed it here or they've revolted and become their own country again
Cornwall - Jethro

And I don't want to be picky (I do) but wasn't Russell Howard technically born in Avon unless he's much older or younger than he looks?

Yes. That's left us with eight correct entries.

Yes, he was born in Avon but since then things have changed and his birthplace (Bristol) is now I believe a county in its own right.

This thread is going to get even more complicated if we are going to distinguish between present-day counties and the counties in existence at the time of these famous comedians' births. :O

Thank you for participating.

Much appreciated.

I too thought Jethro for Cornwall but Cornwall was taken by Rood on page one with Morwenna Banks.

He is also right about Avon - it didn't exist, then it did, now it doesn't and is appropriately italicised.

The game is based on what the counties are this week until they change again - probably next week.

Not when the people were born.

Incidentally, Middlesex is absent as it often has been but so too bizarrely now is Greater London.

89. North Ayrshire - Sara Crowe.
90. Clackmannanshire - Robert Fyfe.
91. West Lothian - David Tennant.
92. Argyll and Bute - David Hutcheson.
93. East Ayrshire - Steven Cree.
94. East Dunbartonshire - Moultrie Kelsall.
95. Moray - Monica Stevenson.

96. Warwickshire - Nikki Kelly.

96 achieved. 13 to get.

Updated List:

City of London

Orkney Islands
Western Isles

Ceredigion

So that's dealt with Northern Ireland!

I haven't wasted my time with this because BILLY CONNNOLLY knocks them all into the nearest bin
