Well sort of watching too. Punk at the Beeb on BBC4.

First on Dr Feelgood with Wilko strutting about. Got tickets to see him and Otway in May. Then The Rods and of course Barrie Masters died last year. Now the Pistols - Pretty Vacant.

Cook and Jones were a greatly underrated engine room.

"Gary don't need his eyes to see
Gary and his eyes have parted company!"

Yes,the Pistols weren't bad musicians except for Sid of course.
I saw Dr Feelgood lots of times.I wouldn't call them punk though, they came before it,didn't they?

Yes. I was surprised they started the programme but they were probably a forerunner. Then the Rods who were originally Eddie and the Hot Rods and they said they were the first band described as Punk. They released Do Anything you Wanna Do under the name The Rods because they wanted to get into the Punk feel with names like the Clash, The Damned and the Vibrators.

The Kursaal Flyers were from that part of the world then too.Not that they were punk but a good pub band I saw a few times.

Echo and the bunnymen - lips like sugar
