Looking at it, it seems very similar actually - but I have to say, Sooty's seems more condensed AND has more laughs.

As topical sketches go, I also prefer Sooty's, but I don't agree that they are that similar.

They have the same premise of bringing in a buffoon to help a flagging investigation aimed at finding a missing person.

... which was what I tried to say originally to head this off - unfortunately it didn't work!

Also, James, the sketches are different in my eyes: one is about inept police investigations; the other is about a paranoid Mr Al Fayed. The targets are totally different.
