As I'm sure many BCG members will be aware, several alcoholic drinks (notably beers and cocktails) have
attracted criticism from people who dislike the idea of drinks having rude, suggestive or otherwise non-politically-correct names.

Complainants will today be delighted to hear that Marks & Spencer have abandoned their porn star martini and renamed it "passion star martini".

The name was changed after a ruling by The Portman Group following, according to reports, a complaint from a member of Mumsnet who said the name suggested sexual activity.

What next? A complaint from that same source demanding that art galleries across the globe remove all examples of conceptual art?

It wouldn't surprise me.

So in a move to ensure the democratic will of the people parliament is to be closed and a Queen appointed by a god along with a serial liar appointed by 94000 irate pensioners will now be running the country. That is all.

If MPs hadn't proved themselves singularly unable and unwilling to sort the matter out over the past 3 years, and if MPs who are opposed to leaving with no-deal hadn't continually voted against the one deal that was on offer, then we wouldn't be in this position. And as they haven't been able to sort it out in 3 years, I don't know why anyone thinks that they would be able to do so within the 5 weeks of the proposed prorogation.

Actually it was the avidly pro-Brexit MPs that killed the deal. If it hadn't been for Rees-Mogg's swivel-eyed ERG and the "We don't believe in dinosaurs OR abortion" party, the thing would have sailed through - nothing us "Remoaners" could have done about it.

Well it's true isn't it? Too many people were trying to thwart the will of the people!

Is it the will of the people to have a Queen and a bunch of ageing elites rule over them ? That's sounds more like Feudalism than Democracy. Mind you give it 10 years and most of them will have died, that's when the revolution will rise up, well after some morning TV and a game of minecraft.

What's the point of having this silly old woman allegedly ruling the country if she always has to do what the PM says? Why bother asking her if she has to agree? What a waste of space she is. I can't think of one.Except for perhaps Churchill whose personality was useful during the war.

432 MPs voted against the withdrawal agreement on 15 January 2019, I don't think even Jacob Rees-Mogg would claim that many members.
