Every time I ask a Brexiteer why they want to leave, the silence is deafening. None has ever given me an answer. When they're starving or dying from lack of medicines, the silence will be even more deafening.

Police in London have appealed for witnesses after Labour activist Owen Jones was attacked by a group of men.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were looking into whether the "senseless attack" was a hate crime.
Of course not! It's because they loved him!

I rest my case.
I'm no fan of Prince Andrew but he seems to be getting a lot of stick simply for consorting with Jeffrey Epstein.
If consorting with criminals or with people who subsequently turn out to be criminals were in itself a criminal offence, our prisons would be bursting at the seams with incarcerated celebrities and politicians.

I don't see why. Gaol is not normally an automatic consequence of committing a criminal offence in this country.

Or even a frequent consequence, even in serious cases.
You have seized upon my comedic use of hyperbole and swiftly used it to remind BCG members of the deplorable state of British jurisprudence in the 21st-century.
You are probably Ian Hislop in real life.

Yesterday, in another thread, I was Fozzie Bear
Meanwhile, I am amused, and very much reassured, by Jeremy Corbyn's promise to emulate Margaret Thatcher if elected as PM. If only...

It's sad really, but it does keep him amused and he clearly gets so much joy from his "jokes"...............going by the LOLs he gives them.
As many BCG members may know, the MOT history of every car in Britain is recorded on a government database and is available on the DVSA website.
While conducting the MOT test, the mechanic writes notes about the condition of the car and those notes are later transcribed onto the government computer.
It seems that whoever is doing this transcribing is unable to distinguish between an official comment by the MOT tester and an unofficial and non-MOT-related note.
If you go to the website and look up the history of a Smart Car, registration number RJ04 ZYX, you will see under advisory notice item(s) for its 2015 test: "Driver looks like a proper C***" (without the asterisks).
Your car was it?

The problem is in this case is that Epstein didn't subsequently turn out to be a criminal. Andrew continued to consort with him even after he'd been convicted of sexual offences. Not very wise.

I'm glad we don't have that level of detail/intrusion. Today I registered my car online: $84 for the registration and $7 for the inspection. I did the inspection while having my oil changed and it consisted of checking my lights and horn. Easy peasy.
While checking my tire pressure (part of the oil change service) the mechanic noticed that my rear tire was low, so I checked it when I got home and discovered a nail. The local tire place repairs nail/screw damage free, but it usually means waiting in a busy office for 60-90 minutes. Luckily there's a Mexican restaurant next door.

All cars isn't strictly true because some are exempt such as brand new cars and vintage cars or vehicles only used on private land. I made the mistake of not sorting my tyres before an MOT and it cost more than if I had replaced any defective tyres before taking it to the MOT garage. It was a garage I trusted so didn't feel I was being ripped off as they were just charging extra for supplying and fitting the two tyres that failed the MOT but I would have saved a few bob if I had replaced the tyres before the MOT.
I once made the mistake of putting a few drops of washing up liquid in to my windscreen wiper reservoir thinking it would dilute nicely with the water and give me a nice clean windscreen. Instead it completely blocked it up so it was unusable and was an MOT failure. I told them about my idiotic actions so they knew what it was but all they could do was flush the system.
Right now I'm car-less and enjoying being free of constant bills and queuing for petrol.
