Quote: Rood Eye @ 5th April 2019, 12:36 PMThe truth about the Brexit referendum is that millions upon millions of voters voted "Leave" because they believed that leaving the EU would mean a bonus of £50 million per day for the NHS.
The campaign was fraudulent and ballot-rigging is not acceptable in a democracy.
.
Cobblers, thats the favourite myth of the remainers, but the fact that the £350 million figure was incorrect was well publicised a good 2 months before the referendum and the idea that it was ALL for the NHS was created by the media,. If you find and listen to the actual earlier speeches you'll find that both Boris and Gove actually said something like "Lets spend the money on our priorities SUCH AS the NHS". However I'll admit that in the later speeches, Boris at least had succumbed to saying it like the media did.
And they never did repaint the figure on the infamous bus, but then that would be extra spend and would have got them fined more..
Bye the way the Remain campaign spent £19,309,588 plus the £6million or so of taxpayers money on the pro-remain government leaflet and the Leave Campaign spent £13,332,56. Yet it was the finances of the Leave Campaign that got investigated and fined. Funny peculiar that.
