What's the name of that actor who plays the young stepdad in the BT wireless broadband free internet calls handset thingamajig ads? He's been in a load of other stuff I think, but I just can't place him. He might have been the waiter who puts his foot in it at the wedding in Love Actually, but he might not. Which isn't much help. Any ideas?
Face rings a bell...
Isn't he the elder kid off the early My Family?
Kris Marshall
I think he is that waiter.
And he had his own sitcom on bbc3 didn't he? About a film maker.
yeah my life in film i think it was called, but i'm not sure, but he played a character caaled Arthur or "art" for short.
Very arguable to whether that was a sitcom or not!
Well it was certainly a sit.
Yes, as Barry said first - Kris Marshall - the man who will never quite fit a part as well as he did Nick in "My Family".
For the record he's also been in an average stereotypical crime drama for ITV which didn't quite work as people were waiting for him to prat about (he obviously didn't) and "My Life in Film" - a BBC3 comedy (clips and things on the official site) which, as zooo said is a "sit" but not a "sitcom" (it misses on a couple of other criteria too hence why it isn't on this site).
fantastic information avalanche I started there, thanks everyone!
He also popped in Funland, if anyone saw that. A rather strange, murderous but quite enjoyable romp around the freaky underworld of Blackpool. Written by Jeremy Dyson of League of Gentleman fame.
Loved funland, and he was quite good in it.
Yeah, I loved it as well.
Roy Barraclough with his metal bollocks.
Oh yes, I forgot he was in that. Completely addictive after a couple of episodes. I loved Mark Gatiss's taxidermist.
Funland was good and quite gruesome at times. Lots of parallels with "Blackpool" though - the musical drama/com with Sarah Parrish (gorgeous) and David Tennant. It's almost like someone set the same brief to 2 different writers.
He was also in Love Actually...as the very lucky Englishman who hooks up with 3 lovely american ladies...
I never really got him as the step dad in those adds... he just was such an idiot in My Family. Playing someone serious just didn't work in my opinion!!!
