Men Only Page 6

Yes, but I tried to see something in it that clearly isn't there and concluded that there was no joke.

I don't really get the 'joke'. Although, I've had a strange morning. My daughter came in and asked if I wanted a biscuit, but my brain was already busy trying to organize the printing of a document, so replied with, "Is there any water in the printer?" Water? Why water? I do not know. So, I'm probably not probing deep enough, here, but I'm actually not great with these types of cartoons. If it doesn't jump out at me straight away, I don't ponder too hard. Come to think of it, I would have quite liked a biscuit.

These are the last four from the Men Only mag, and have posted together as they form a "stockings through the ages" series, but to tune in tomorrow for the last "Bonus" cartoon.

Is that dirty Santa's coat on the floor? :D

AND NOW we know the name of the artist - Edgar Norfield..........................beaky?

Aha, at last! Edgar Norfield. Full marks for sleuthing, Herc! Can't say I've ever heard of him, but I'm no expert. He certainly had a strange Santa fixation, perhaps he got stuck in a chimney once...

Well this was the Christmas issue so we'll forgive him, and now on a second look I get the joke with yesterday's cartoon of his - the speaker Santa at the meeting is saying no to nationalisation, yet all the Santas at the meeting look the same. Yes/No? Or am I reading something in it that's not there. Pleased OR very slow on the uptake. :D

Just remembered (and amazingly it is where I safely filed it, which is nothing short of a miracle) a sort pornographic cartoon that an American serviceman gave to me when I used to work on the USAF bases in the early 60s - in fact I had to persuade him a lot to let me keep it!
He was a cartoonist on Life magazine in his civilian life and I have to say the cartoon is of very high artistic quality, but far too naughty to post on this forum. It is pornographic but not in the sense of being for titillation but a very clever joke - just a shame I cannot post it OR that he didn't sign it!

OK, you've "persuaded" me to post it, but I thought I had better sort of "adjust it" for decency's sake and/or Aaron/zooo's big grey pen. I think you can work out the missing "bit".
