New BBC Ensemble idea

Anyone got any suggestions? What about a general political one from Westminster? All ages, classes, sexes, etc.

It could be set in the bars or anterooms. I know they've done Yes Minister, New Statesman etc which concentrated on 2 or 3 main characters but Westminster would have potentially 600 odd colourful - and not so colourful characters. Some really extreme ideas and some really wimpy liberals.

Hi David. Not quite sure what you're getting at. Suggestions for what?

There was news that BBC wanted a new sitcom along lines of Are You Being Served or Allo Allo with lots of characters cos they realise people like stuff like that. I just thought we could give them some ideas.

i don't think they want ideas, i think they just want the sitcom.

Perhaps someone should point the BBC towards the Critique forum there loads of ideas there (some are even quite good). Whistling nnocently

Maybe that's what our "sitcom writing idea" could be about. MP's in and around parliament. Loads of scope in characters.

The Thick Of It has that covered.

They want a sitcom, yes but from writers they already know probably. *sigh*

How about a sitcom about sitcom writers discussing writing a sitcom? No?

Could be really surreal - and I don't mean that in a trendy modern way. It could be very Vic & Bob.
