Happy Families

Who remember this classic, and more to the point who has any copies on Video or DVD.

Written by Ben Elton, was this before or after he started producing utter shit

Blessed Sick (phew, wants that smell)Sick

yes it was by Elton

Early 80s, I think? Perhaps mid. Long before the steaming turd that was Blessed, anyway.

And I have copies. Go me.

I'll be happy to help, but I don't know if it's allowed on here. *cough* So PM me, I might have got sumpm for ya.

Anyone fancies a little swap, let me know.

I'll swap you for some DVD's, PM me.

I'm looking for the show, should have made that clear :)

Aaron, i'll swap you Up the Elephant and Round the Castle for Happy Families.

This is getting a tad confusing now. Anyone looking for it, PM me. (Daniel: deal. :))

Ooh I saw an episode on YouTube and loved it. :D
Couldn't find it on DVD yet. :(

Is this on DVD yet?

Nope.

Why did they release the much-maligned Filthy Rich and Catflap, and not this???

I love this. Ben Elton has sometimes claimed it as his best work - and he might just be right. It has the absurdity that runs through a lot of Elton's work - but the absurdity is much more judicious. Nothing feels thrown together, it is very sophisticated, dark and intense. There are good jokes, but no overly drawn out puns and silly similies - which even the revered "Blackadder" did not avoid. No laugh track! So ahead of its time - and a stellar cast to boot.
Why, oh why, is this not on DVD? Can we get a petition going?
