Sitcom Giveaways

Your challenge is to come up with phrases which would lead you to a specific sitcom but is not a catchphrase.

"My friend in the windmill will be able to solve that."

I'm not sure "Jonathan Creek" is actually a sitcom but the clue certainly points to that programme.

Correct. Do you want a go?

Well I thought it was obviously Jonathan Creek but I agree; it's definitely not a sitcom.

Okay, here's my clue to a sitcom:

"Definitely not having it off with each other".

Just Good Friends - but more of a crossword clue really?

When did Windy Miller help anyone? It took him years to get anything done.

Yes, "Just Good Friends" is correct.

I don't know what you mean by "more of a crossword clue". You asked for a phrase (but not a catchphrase) that pointed to a specific sitcom and that's what I intended to supply.

Do you want something different?

In the meantime, here's another one:

"The first time I heard anybody mention this program, I thought it might be about a disappointing trip to Texas and Louisiana."

Little Britain Abroad?

Little Britain Abroad?

No, 'fraid not.

Isn't it Paul's turn as he guessed correctly?

Isn't it Paul's turn as he guessed correctly?

I see your point Chappers but, not knowing how long Paul was going to be away from the thread, I tossed my latest question into the ring in order that readers might be entertained while waiting for clarification about the desirability of questions that were similar to crossword clues. I'm still not sure what sort of phrases Paul requires as clues, apart from their not being catchphrases.

Things which give away the show (the show is more than a title I would have thought) which isn't a catchphrase?

Okay, how about this bit of imaginary dialogue?

"I've just realised we're both the exact opposite of Mr Humphries."

"Well, that's a relief."
