The Two Ronnies - The Worm That Turned

Coming to the end of an all-too-short winter sojourn in Tenerife and finishing reading the several books that I brought with me, one of which is "And it's goodnight from him - the autobiography of the Two Ronnies", written by Ronnie Corbett. In it he makes mention of the mini-serial, "The Worm That Turns" that ran throughout series 8 of the Two Ronnies in 1980 and starred Diana Dors.

As I'm sure most of you will recall, it was set in a fururistic Britain (actually in the second decade of the 21st century) in a land governed by women. The chief of police was a woman, men's clubs were banned, gents only toilets were abolished and there was no longer a Big Ben.

Now of course we know that some of these things are too ridiculous to ever come true...Errr

Laughing out loud

Alternatively, we are dinosaurs who are behind the time.

I think we are some way off yet!

We could continue this discussion at Barbara Castle?
