Who made 'photofit police look like criminals'?

Hello! Sorry to butt in.

I am just wondering if anyone can identify a skit, possibly an old one (not the nine oclock news or something like that?) which is very hazy in my memory.

It looks like a "Crimewatch wanted criminals" TV show, with a voiceover saying "police are on the lookout for this man, bald, broken nose, robbed a bank last wednesday" etc. There are many of these criminals shown on screen, and the photofits all look the same, stereotypical thugs.

Then at the end the voiceover says "anyone with any information should call Constable blah blah etc" and the policemen's portraits are shown... and the punchline is that the photos of the policemen look exactly like the photos of the criminals, but with police uniforms on.

It's very very funny and I would like to see it again, if it exists, and anyone here can give me any information at all, I would be super duper grateful.

Yeah, sounds very much like Not The Nine O'Clock News to me too. Can't offer anything more than that I'm afraid.

Although I could picture it in Three of a Kind as well.

perhaps i shouldn't have mentioned 9 o'clock, it might be a distraction.
