Heard this for the first time just now. Never heard of them before (from 1993). Like a more spiky, raucous Blondie. Somebody impress me, and tell me they already knew about them. :)

Eve's Plum - I Want It All

Enjoyed that and the different genres like grunge, hard rock and psychadelic sections. You're right she does sound a lot like Blondie and looks a bit like Zoe Ball so it's a double thumbs up from me. Hey, come on. We're better than that.

I liked to rock out to that kind of stuff but you couldn't beat Dubstar for a more chilled out vibe. Stars is their most well known track but my favourite is Not So Manic Now closely followed by Anywhere which are all from the same album.

Wave

Well I'm impressed you found them George. Thanks very much.
On investigation the singer Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick aka Vitamin C has quite an interesting history.
Searching Youtube her Eve's Plum stuff appeals to me more than her solo stuff:)

Yeah, pretty chilled. I think it reminds me of something, but can't work out what it is? Maybe it just reminds me of Dubstar. :D

I shoulda known! Show-off! :P :)

Funny how totally different the singer's next venture was, Vitamin C. Much prefer Eve's Plum.

Vitamin C - Smile

Edited to add

Laughing out loud You got there just before me. Looks like we're into similar stuff.

George Kaplan is a brilliant nickname for a message board.A character that doesn't really exist.I wish I'd thought of it.

If it is actually your name.....oops!!!

I just put on Tattoo by Rory Gallagher and I'd forgotten how good it was.

I'd practically persuaded myself that it was only his live albums (I've got the Live CD box set too) were worth listening to but I'm now planning to buy Blueprint again because for some stupid reason I sold it when I was a bit hard up.

I'm sure the studio albums were practically recorded "live".

Inspired by this post I bought Against The Grain today. One of the few RG albums I didn't have.

Nice voice. Brass riff on the first song is a bit 'Frontier Psychiatrist'.

Coincidentally one of the tracks I'm posting, as played on Soccer AM last weekend, is by a new Dutch band.

EUT - Bad Sweet Pony

Jurassic 5 - What's Golden (2002)

Love the 70s sound of this and how the chorus sounds like a dancehall anthem and a stepping stone to Northern Soul. The hat reminds me of 80s films like Breakfast Club/Uncle Buck/Ferris Bueller's Day Off and she looks totally different when she takes it off. From Hollywood starlet to bullseye contenstant :D

Marshall Hain - Dancing In The City

She has quite a scary stare, doesn't she? Sounds/looks quite EuroPop to me.

Re: Northern Soul, I picked up this really nice double cd comp for a couple of quid from a charity shop.

You can hear short samples of each track on here -

I've got particularly fond of this one.

Don Thomas - Come On Train

Ever tried any of the N. Soul dance moves, DT?

Been listening to more of this. Very listenable to. The Cab Calloway-ish Swing stuff is fun.

I noticed that the Vintage TV channel were showing a John Lydon interview on their Needle Time slot at 5am this morning (from 2015), so recorded it and watched some of it over breakfast. The usually rather arrogant Neil McCormick seemed genuinely nervous and intimidated by John, even though John seemed in a good mood, and was totally unthreatening. He did make various digs at Glen Matlock though.

They have some catch-up stuff on their website, though not this episode.
