Batman Page 5

I just watched the animated film Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. It's so much better than Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. When you have an animated character in a superhero costume, they (usually) look good. When you dress up a real life person, they pretty much always look like a bell-end (in Christian Bale's case, he sounded like a bell-end as well).

I'm not really sold on Gotham, but one thing that's working for it, no one looking stupid dressed up as a giant bat. It's certainly better than Arrow and Flash with their generic looking identikit standard Hollywood twentysomething casts.

Favourite guest villain of the TV series? Egghead, maybe.

I remember a rubber shark in the film. Adam West dangling from a helicopter on a rope ladder and pretending to fight a rubber shark. That and Jaws are the only times I can think of in which rubber sharks have featured in major motion pictures.

What makes you think I am at a loose end and surfing the threads....................

I seem to remember Robin shouting "Holy Sardines!" when Batman was fighting the shark off, at the bottom of the Bat Ladder - And we knew it was that because it had a sign on the bottom rung that said just that. Laughing out loud

I take it Catwoman was your favourite villain?

One of the most hideous Batman villains.

Sick

Really enjoying these re-runs from the very first episode on TPTV Saturday Morning Pictures - ZOK! KAPOW! BLAM! 😂

So toe-curlingly bad, they're good

I beat the Dynamic Duo to the solving of the Riddler's first brainteaser last week:

Three men in a boat with four cigarettes but no matches. How did all three men manage to light & smoke a cigarette each?

Brought back memories of reading the jokes pages in the Beano & Dandy every week (Falling off cliffs by Eileen Dover...)

Holy Head-scratcher, Batman!

The other thing that makes me laugh, is when in the opening titles they show the cartoon figures running towards the screen, not getting anywhere and looking like they are treading grapes. 😆

Is this where one of them is a cigarette lighter?

Throw one of the cigarettes overboard and the boat becomes a cigarette lighter, yes.
