All good points @deathbymonkey. I always listen with an open mind and whilst I enjoyed much of last night's show it did seem a bit dislocated and didn't add up to anything more than the sum of its parts - wasn't very convinced by that 'Lent' sketch? (not having a pop at the content, more the lack of plot layers and absence of setting which made it very random, but maybe that's being mean and I should give it a second chance). Emma Sidi, who is always great in my opinion (loads of high energy and voice) seemed to propel a lot of the sketches. I've also started to notice the odd well-travelled twitter gag making it onto the oneliners list, which is a bit of a shame but arguably unavoidable: it's most likely coincidence and I might well be unknowingly guilty of it too; of course, it's a big wide world and things happen, but it has had the effect of making me far less stressy about not making it....'every feckin' week gooddammit' ;) But hey, I really love what the show sets out to do - not an easy thing - some genius bits come out of it and the success stories are always encouraging to hear, even if most of us, sadly, are on a road to nowhere.

So itwas a one liner about Dippy the Dinosaur but they missed me off the credits. Ho Hum

Well done! (Can't believe it's your first credit!)
If you email the producers they can add you to the online credits.

Here's a Friday pick-me-up:

Focussed on pitching but in general it translates.

"We are the world's FOREMOST AUTHORITY on OUR OWN TAKE. On what WE love about something. And that is unassailable. Meaning: it can never be taken away. And so now, when I go into a room, I simply focus on what gets ME excited about something; what *I* like." (@ed_soloman)

Nice.
I like this, too:

Interesting.

Second drafts of two sketches in hand. Now to sit on them for 24 hours in case inspiration hits again and I decide to rewrite or start over.

How are you all getting on?

Just discovered the weekly Twon analysis blog. Well worth following, some interesting observations.

Yes, Twon's blog is excellent. Some very interesting findings on there. At least one person has had a sketch on both shows, which seems amazing when they are choosing from over 700, and the duplication of subjects is a surprise when selecting from thousands.

To me that shows the importance of continually sending good quality material and having your name recognised.

Yes. Interesting. Though I think NJ say that all the one-liners are from non-commissioned people.

Also, we know that the video ref story in that '6' is from someone on here.
I agree with the guess that half the sketches roughly are in-house.
Same as last week at this time - no sketches yet.

Complicated. That would rule out Sootyj and Dan Swertyd.

Two sketches submitted. Also have more NC's than required this week and some very average one liners to edit tighter.

Online credits? I didn't know they did that. Where are they? I can't see them on the iPlayer.

one sketch submitted on life after Bolton, and laughing at my own oneliners which inevitably can only mean one thing Wave
